The Community Resilience & Livelihoods vertical of CCRAF focuses on strengthening the adaptive capacities of vulnerable communities to cope with social, economic, and psychosocial challenges. We recognise resilience as a collective process rooted in access to resources, skills, rights, and supportive community systems.
Our interventions prioritise women, youth, and informal community groups, particularly in urban informal settlements and resource-constrained settings. Through participatory and rights-based approaches, we work to enhance livelihood security while fostering confidence, agency, and social cohesion.
Key Focus Areas
Women’s Livelihood Strengthening: Capacity building through skill development, financial literacy, and linkages to income-generating opportunities and social protection schemes.
Community-Based Resilience Building: Strengthening collective action, mutual support systems, and local leadership to respond to economic stress, migration, and social vulnerabilities.
Psycho-social Integration: Embedding mental well-being, coping skills, and emotional resilience within livelihood and community programmes.
Institutional Linkages and Advocacy: Facilitating access to government schemes, Panchayati Raj Institutions, urban local bodies, and community-based organisations.
Youth and Community Leadership: Encouraging participation of young people and community volunteers in resilience-building and local development initiatives.
CCRAF adopts an evidence-informed and context-sensitive approach, combining training, community mobilisation, counselling referrals, and advocacy. Through these efforts, we aim to promote sustainable livelihoods, strengthen community resilience, and enable dignified, self-reliant, and inclusive development pathways.
