Prof. Olive Peacock was an eminent scholar and academician associated with the Centre of South Asia Study, University of Rajasthan. She made significant contributions to the fields of South Asian studies and political science through her teaching, research, and scholarly mentorship.
Prof. Peacock completed her B.A. from Maharani College, University of Rajasthan, and M.A. in Political Science from the Department of Political Science, University of Rajasthan, where she was also awarded a UGC Fellowship. Her strong academic foundation and commitment to rigorous scholarship shaped a distinguished career in higher education.
She authored two scholarly books and edited many books and published more than 20 research papers in reputed national and international journals. Her academic work reflected deep engagement with South Asian political, social, and regional studies, contributing meaningfully to contemporary academic discourse.
Beyond publications, Prof. Peacock played a vital role in research supervision, guiding and mentoring numerous scholars who went on to contribute to academia and public life. She was also actively involved in international academic assignments and collaborations, representing Indian scholarship abroad and strengthening global academic linkages.
Prof. Olive Peacock’s contribution to academics lies in her multidimensional role as a teacher, researcher, mentor, and international academic collaborator. Dr. Subhasis Bhadra
Dr. Subhasis Bhadra is a Professor of Psychiatric Social Work and Head of the Department of Psychosocial Support in Disaster Management at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. He holds an MSW from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS.
Beginning his professional journey in 2001 with OXFAM–India during the Gujarat earthquake rehabilitation, Dr. Bhadra has since worked extensively across disaster-affected regions in India and Asia, collaborating with organizations such as CARE India, American Red Cross, Action Aid, International Medical Corps, and the International Federation of Red Cross. His work strongly emphasizes psychosocial support, disaster mental health, and gender-equity-focused interventions.
He has held teaching positions since 2009 at Assam Central University, Gautam Buddha University (Greater Noida), and the Central University of Rajasthan. Currently, he also serves as a Consultant with ECHO India on a Gender Equity pilot project in schools. Dr. Bhadra has contributed to national policy and curriculum development through NIDM, including the Foundation Course on Disaster Management.
An accomplished academic and researcher, he has supervised 06 Ph.D. scholars and authored 52 academic articles, 53 book chapters, and 3 books (including one edited volume). His research interests span peacebuilding, psychosocial support, disaster and child mental health, gender justice, and sustainable development.

Dr. RAJEEV M.M (MA, MSW, Ph.D) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at the Central University of Rajasthan. He completed his MSW from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala, and earned his Ph.D. in Disaster Management/Social Sciences from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. With 9 years of field experience and more than 16 years of teaching experience at postgraduate and doctoral levels, he has developed expertise in disaster management, psychosocial care, sustainable livelihoods, physical health, and community development. Since joining the Central University of Rajasthan on 28 March 2016, he has been actively involved in teaching courses in disaster management, medical and psychiatric social work, counselling, social policy, planning and development, community development, social action, fieldwork, internships, and dissertation supervision.
Dr. Rajeev has made notable academic contributions through research, publications, and scholarly activities. Since 2009, he has published 5 books, 18 book chapters, 40 research articles in UGC-CARE-listed journals, and 5 conference publications, totaling 62 scholarly works. He has completed 9 research projects and 2 consultancy projects, and has also worked as a content writer and subject matter expert for MOOCs. In addition, he has supervised 5 Ph.D. scholars, including 2 who have been awarded and 3 who are currently pursuing doctoral studies. He has presented papers at international conferences, delivered more than 70 invited talks, and organized 12 conferences and workshops in the fields of social work, disaster management, and community development.
Apart from his academic responsibilities, Dr. Rajeev has contributed significantly to institutional administration and social initiatives. He received Faculty Appreciation Awards from Amrita University for several academic years and served as Chief Editor of the DISHAA newsletter. He has also held positions in IQAC, NSS, and Community Development initiatives. At the Central University of Rajasthan, he served as Nodal Officer for the Government of India’s Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programs. Since 2021, he has served as President of the Social Experts Voluntary Association in India (SEVA India), reflecting his dedication to professional social work practice, community participation, and social development.
